Just in time for what seems like Founders’ Day Season (the month of January is the month when five of the nine NPHC organizations celebrate their founding dates), Ebony magazine has a four-page spread in its February 2008 issue profiling the Divine Nine. The four-page spread (pp. 104 - 108), entitled “Stepping Up,” gives a brief overview of all nine organizations, emphasizing many of their community service efforts both abroad and domestic.
I found the article to be very informative for non-Greeks, but most Greeks would probably know most of the information presented. I was particularly impressed by each organization’s community service programs, particularly those occuring in Africa. Other than that, it was nice seeing photos of various organizations in action throughout the article. Good job Greeks, good job Ebony!
The February 2008 issue of Ebony magazine is on newsstands today.

um. that article was really shitty. that writer needs a better editor or something. i’m Greek and that article just didn’t do any justice to anything. it was like an encyclopedia entry. way too elementary
